The challenges of strategy delivery

(...and how to improve it)

Deepteam and our partners and associates invite you to participate in our spring and summer event programme around the subject of Strategy Delivery.

Strategy delivery is challenging – and many organisations struggle! In 2022 we organised a series of events probing strategy delivery issues, and exploring sensible approaches for improvement – and it’s time to take this further!

The US based National Association of Corporate Directors also believes this is the case, with its 2023 The Future of the American Board Report suggesting that oversight of strategy development and execution were both rated highly important or important improvements for boards by 70% of its Trends and Priorities Survey.

We are therefore pleased to launch our Challenges of Strategy Delivery initiative with the goal of helping organisations improve strategy delivery and strengthen their capabilities for the longer term.

Our Spring and Summer event programmes will explore the challenges from various perspectives, and feature ideas and approaches to help meet these, leading up to an Autumn conference. The events will be participative, featuring speakers with expertise in strategy, implementation, information and governance.

Our White Paper to introduce the programme and set the scene, “The Challenges of Strategy Delivery – and how to improve it” is available to download:

Spring Programme

In the first event of our Spring programme, “Strategy Delivery – where does it all go wrong?” on 28th February we shall be exploring some of the reasons why strategy delivery goes wrong, and how to go about improving this - find out more and register:

We will be following this with events in March and April covering topics such as board level perspectives on strategy delivery, accountability and prioritisation, technology as an enabler, and the importance of integrated governance.

The Spring programme will be finished off with a recorded interview with lovely people from the Good Governance Academy - to make the connection between the challenges of strategy delivery and good corporate governance.

Summer Programme

Our Summer programme will contain elaboration and examples, including perceptions of strategy as something ‘sprinkled on top’ of an organisation. We will also explore an example industry and its specific pains and take a view from the product management community.

Autumn Programme

We will finish the programme with an in-person conference to:

  • present the programme sessions in a more discursive forum
  • enable attendees to network with people having the same issues
  • allow attendees to access the programme partners and associates

Who will benefit from engaging in the programme?

Senior managers / Executives who:

  • see an opportunity to improve their organisation’s effective implementation of strategy
  • are struggling to engage the organisation and get issues recognised and proposals for change on the table
  • are finding the inertia against change too daunting at present
